HBU

HBU is built to be private by design. No sign-up. No profiles. No ad-targeting on guests. Here's exactly what happens with your data.

What we store

• An anonymous guest identifier (random UUID), kept in a cookie for up to 30 days. It lets us reconnect you to your preferences.
• Your preferences (chosen languages, interests, timer, dark/light mode, Local/Global). Cookies only, stored on your device.
• Your country, derived from your IP address, used only to power Local matching. We do not store your IP itself.

What we do NOT store

• Chat messages — they travel over realtime broadcast and are never written to any database.
• Names, emails, phone numbers, or any personal identifier.
• Chat history. When a conversation ends, it's gone.

Analytics

We use basic, anonymized analytics to understand aggregate usage (visits, session length, matches made). IPs are anonymized. No individual profile is built.

Cookies

We use first-party cookies to remember your preferences for up to 30 days. Clearing cookies effectively makes you a brand-new guest.
